A building kit of the Royal Norwegian Navy U-class submarine UREDD with pennant number P41. An antenna wire of the Admiralty Type 55 radio station runs from the bow to the stern over the bridge, and a 76 mm cannon is mounted on the deck. The assembled model can be safely stored in a stable display stand with a description.

The construction of the submarine began at the British Armstrongs shipyard on March 11, 1940. After armament and initial trials, it was commissioned on December 7, 1941, during the German occupation, into the 9th Norwegian Submarine Flotilla with its home port in Scotland. In the first months of service, UREDD, then still designated P-41, carried out seven combat missions during which it sank several German ships. The well-coordinated crew and the capable captain Rolf Q. Røren soon attracted the attention of the Norwegian government-in-exile. The submarine, now renamed UREDD, was transferred to the secret unit Kompani Linge for special operations. Their goal, in cooperation with special agents, was to attack and destroy strategic Norwegian factories supplying the German war machine. After several successful operations, Captain Røren was tasked with transporting a group of 6 saboteurs to the smelter in Arendal. The submarine sent a dispatch to headquarters on February 10, 1943, announcing the start of Operation Seagull. This was the last message, and on February 20, the submarine and her crew were declared lost. During her approach in the waters near the island of Senja, the vessel likely struck a naval mine laid by the German minesweeper Cobra. The wreck of the submarine was discovered by chance only in 1985 on the seabed in the southwestern part of the Fugløyvær fjord. Uredd is thus the only Norwegian submarine sunk during a mission in World War II.

“I don't know if it was actually some kind of luck. The truth is that before the fateful 8th mission, I was taken off the submarine Uredd along with several other sailors. It was necessary to make room in the submarine for a group of agents who were supposed to destroy the facility in the Arendal smelter and put it out of operation. That evening was the last time I saw the captain and all my friends. It might seem strange to you, but every single day I wake up with remorse that my friends perished and I didn't.”
