The building set of the famous ocean liner in the latest 2026 version brings a more realistic level of detail and a more precise scale ratio of the model. The ship features a complete rounded keel, and every part is made as close to the real original as possible. On deck, two radio masts connected by an antenna wire rise up, along with iconic funnels and several lifeboats.

Titanic was an Olympic-class ocean liner ordered in 1908 by the White Star Line company. Construction of the ship began on March 31, 1909, at the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. In its time, it was the largest passenger liner in the world designed to transport passengers and mail between Europe and America. Chief designer Thomas Andrews designed a whole series of innovative solutions, including watertight safety bulkheads, which convinced the young designer of the ship's unsinkability. The ship's decks were divided into classes. First class boasted lavish luxury, such as a Marconi telephone communication system, a library, a barbershop, a swimming pool, a gym, a squash court, or Turkish baths. Only very wealthy people could afford first-class travel. The price of a ticket for a parlor suite would correspond to about 2,816,000 CZK in today's prices.
However, no amount of wealth saved the passengers from the disaster that occurred shortly after setting sail. On its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on April 14, 1912, at 11:40 PM, Titanic struck an iceberg and, early in the morning of April 15 at 02:20, disappeared beneath the ice-cold Atlantic. About 1,500 passengers perished in the tragedy. The Titanic disaster is probably the most famous maritime tragedy, but by no means the largest in terms of casualties. That was the sinking of the German ship Gustloff, in which over 9,400 people died after a Soviet torpedo attack.
The publicity surrounding the Titanic disaster was caused by the presence of the world's richest people on board. News of the tragedy immediately flooded the front pages of newspapers worldwide. The tragedy, in which many wealthy figures from banking, show business, and industrialists died, even shook the financial markets in America and Europe.
An interesting fact is that the iconic silhouette of the Titanic has 4 funnels, but only 3 were functional. The fourth funnel was installed to make the ship look more grand.

“When I heard of the sinking of the Titanic, I was devastated. It was the greatest tragedy in the history of maritime transport. I thought of those innocent people who perished in the cold waters of the Atlantic. It was like losing a part of family.”
