French car CITROËN 15CV SIX D COBI 2267 - Historical Collection

You know that:

• The first 15CV was launched in 1938, but production was discontinued during the war years.
• At the time, the car's shape divided customers into two groups. The first succumbed to the elegance of the bodywork and the second condemned it, with nothing in between. Eventually, the Citröen's shapes proved timeless and production continued until 1957.
• The Citröen 15CV made its big comeback in 1954 with the SIX D version, which was fitted with a new engine, but more importantly with the hydropneumatic suspension that this car received as the world's first ever mass-produced car.
• The reason why this version bore the "D" designation is simple. For the first time in a Citröen, the new engine turned to the right, i.e. á Droite = to the right.
• If you happen to own a Citröen SIX D cabrio, you are a very rich person. Only one was ever made.
• Several presidential specials were also built.
• A total of 43,694 were produced in several versions.
• In addition to France, the cars were also built in Cologne, Slough, UK, Vorst, Belgium and Copenhagen, Denmark.
