This building set of the German medium tank is finished in the standard "Dunkelgrau" (dark grey) color scheme used by the Panzer corps. The assembled model features a rotating turret with an adjustable cannon elevation. The turret can be easily lifted to allow a look into the tank's interior. Under the rear hatch, you will find a replica of the Maybach HL120 TRM engine. The road wheels are equipped with rubber tires and functional tracks, allowing the model to roll smoothly on various surfaces. A toolbox is mounted on the left side of the tank, while a fuel jerry can and a mounting lever are located on the right. The package also includes a tanker figure with a wrench and a printed nameplate. A beautiful detail is the visible cooling turbine blades within the engine compartment.

Panzer tanks were developed in 1935 as the primary battle tanks for the German armed forces. From the beginning, the tank was designed as a modular system, with chassis and turrets produced by different suppliers. This made it easy to assemble functional machines from damaged or immobile units under field conditions. The Panzer III was equipped with a system for deep wading up to 15 meters for a duration of 20 minutes. Air supply was provided by an 18-meter long hose with a 20 cm diameter attached to a float.
After the invasion of Russia, Panzers encountered superior Soviet and British machines, sparking a dispute between the German army and the weapons office, which was reluctant to authorize a larger caliber cannon. Ultimately, facing the advancing armor of the Soviet Army's T-34 and KV-1, the tank was fitted with a more powerful long-barreled 50 mm cannon. Even with the more powerful gun, the machine struggled against its opponents. It became clear that the Pz III was too light and small to mount a truly effective weapon, leading to the end of production in 1943. The Ausf. J was the most produced version, while later versions featured the KwK 39 L/60 gun and reinforced 57 mm frontal plating. The tank was powered by a Maybach HL120 gasoline engine—yes, the same company that produces luxury cars today.
The Ausf. H version differed in road wheel size and drive sprocket shape, and featured the KwK 38 50 mm anti-tank gun and an additional 30 mm of armor. Approximately 308 units of the H version were produced between 1940 and 1941.
A total of approximately 5,774 units were produced across all modifications.

"The German 'Three' (Pz.III) was a good tank—very fast and agile, with excellent optics. Their commanders saw everything before we did. But at Moscow, it didn't help them. When the snow came, their narrow tracks bogged down, while our wide tracks kept us on the surface. We fired at them from a distance because their short cannons couldn't reach us. It was like shooting at moving targets that couldn't escape the trap. Today people say winter helped us win. That's not true. We were just as cold as they were."
